Johnson County Middle School is a public middle school located in Paintsville, Kentucky. The school has 44 teachers and 565 students in grades 7-8, with a student-teacher ratio of 1:15.[1] It is part of the Johnson County School District.[2]
The school is known both statewide and worldwide for its academic team. It has won the Kentucky Governor's Cup eight times (1999, 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010), the most wins of any other middle school in the state. It has also placed first in international FPS in 2004 and 2008.[3] The team is coached by Pamela Burton.
